The Good Times

When I remember my childhood, I have many joyful memories. Two of my favorite memories are with my family at the beach and going to the mall with my father. Those moments were simple but made me very happy.

Of course, one of the most memorable experiences is going to the beach. My family took me to the beach almost every year. We used to bring food, towels, and toys. The car ride was always so exciting because I knew the beach was coming soon. When we got there, I could hear the waves and feel the sand under my feet. The sun shines brightly, and the wind hitting my skin. It felt so good to be in the sea.

When I was at the beach, I played with my cousins. We ran in the water and tried to jump over the waves. Sometimes, we collected seashells and looked at them closely to see their different shapes and colors. I remember we also built big sandcastles. My cousins and I build together, using buckets and shovels. We laughed a lot as the waves tried to wash away our castles. Even though the heat of the sun was hot, the ocean breeze made me feel fresh. I don't want to leave, but I knew we would come back next year.

Another favorite memory is going to the mall with my father. I loved walking with my father, holding his hand. The toy store and all the new toys on display would be places we would visit. I could spend long periods looking at the shelves in those stores, thinking which toy I would choose. My father would let me pick a small toy or candies for myself. I was so happy when my dad agreed. After shopping, we would sit in the food court and share lunch together. I remember eating hamburgers and fries while we chatted about lots of things. I felt loved and safe as long as he was around me.

Having looked back at these memories, I find myself thinking about how special these was. A beach trip with my the family was a simple thing, but the time that I spent with my father in the mall was another wonderful thing. Simple things make me happy, and these are the things that I would never forget, because they remind me of love and happiness as a kid.
